Artist Statement

My work consists of paintings, ceramics, and photography that portray symbolism that speaks to me at that moment in my life. My work is a reflection of my curiosity and spiritual growth that results from constant research and learning—that would never stop—the connection between mental health, emotional health, the importance of energy balance, and learning about myself, as well as my connection with the purest of beauty; nature. All these influences are part of who I am as an artist and person. My name, Xochitl, means flower in Nahuatl culture. I believe names have power, and therefore, my connection with nature has become part of my destiny.
